Robert (Bob) Spence is Emeritus Professor of Information Engineering at the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering of Imperial College in London. He was the inventor of several techniques such as [[Bifocal Display]]  (also known as [[Fisheye Lens]]), the [[Prosection Matrix]] and the [[Attribute Explorer]]

He is also author of the book ''Information Visualisation'' (ISBN 0201596261), widely adopted by universities courses around the world
