WebBrain provides a visual interface to browse a human-maintained directory of Web sites. Like Yahoo, websites are classified by humans who associate a set of categories to each entity to classify. WebBrain add to the common techniques of fulltext search and browsing the categories the possibility to visually represent the hierarchy of the categories related with each search. The user can click on each topic on the network displayed to explore the related information, instead of searching through long lists of text. Each time the user click on a topic the network is rebuilt and all related categories are displayed. WebBrain is built on the top of TheBrain, a generic tool for managing information by visually organizing resources.
